Why I purchased it
I haven’t used Vaseline lotion because I was a teenager, when there was a seemingly neverending supply of super-sized yellow bottles of Intensive care lotion in the bathroom. I used it back then ‘cause there was no other lotion option, and I never liked it. It had a strange plastic smell and was never moisturizing enough for my dry legs.
I amazed myself when I purchased this purple bottle of renewal Age Redefining Body lotion on a whim while at Target a month ago. It includes alpha hydroxy acids and I’m on an AHA kick, so when I found this lotion on sale (my favorite excuse) I couldn’t pass it up.

What it’s expected to do
Vaseline renewal Age Redefining Body lotion bottle says that the formula’s AHA’s accelerate the skin’s ability to renew itself. The product claims to right away replenish lost moisture and combat dullness. It also claims to even skin tone and make skin much more resilient in four weeks. The only active ingredient noted is octinoxate (1.25%), a sunscreen that blocks UVB rays.
What I liked
The best thing about this lotion is that it’s very moisturizing. I have dry skin on my legs– if I put certain lotions on at night in some cases I have to reapply in the morning again because they’ll get ashy. When I use Vaseline renewal Age Redefining Body lotion I find that I don’t have to reapply in the morning. It also has an outstanding texture that sinks into your skin immediately. another big plus is the price. I got it mine on sale for four bucks, woo hoo.
What I didn’t like
I wish the renewal Age Redefining Body lotion bottle indicated what percentage of AHA it contains, because it isn’t listed. other AHA body lotions, like Alpha Hydrox SilkWrap Body Lotion, or GlyDerm Body lotion, say what percentage of AHA it includes (7%, 10%). This is nitpicky thing, but I would like to know if there’s enough in there to actually be working, ya know? and after four weeks of use, I can’t say that my skin is much more even toned or resilient.

This lotion also has a distinct AHA smell to it. If you’ve used other AHA products like Neutrogena healthy Skin night then you’ll know what I’m talking about. I have a hyper-sensitive sense of smell (the spouse has accused me of being part Basset Hound on several occasions) so the scent may not bother you the way it bothers me. When I first started using this lotion I could barely stand the smell. It reminded me of rotting fish and moldy cut flower stems. Ewwww. The only saving grace is that the smell goes away quickly. and after two weeks of use I became desensitized to it, so it no longer bothers me.
The final word
Despite all of the negatives you can’t beat the amount you get for the price. If you’re on a strict budget and want to try an AHA body lotion this is one worth trying.

I’m back from San Diego! The trip was so much fun and I got a ton of surfing in over the weekend. We surfed at La Jolla beach, which is probably my favorite surfing beach outside of the Hawaiian islands. I learned how to surf at La Jolla, so it has a special place in my heart.
